» gattinalydia - VITAMIN E and FRECKLES

Does anyone have any further information regarding squeezing vitamin e (400 iu) onto freckles on the skin because of rancidity? For how long does one have to apply this and will taking it orally prevent new freckles from forming even if you are in the sun?

This is an interesting question. I had really only heard of applying lemon juice to freckles to fade them.
I think that applying vitamin E from a capsule is a sure way to guarantee fresh vitamin E. The capsules are pretty good about preserving oils. Take extra measures by storing them in the fridge and in a dark container or jar. Use natural vitamin E and not synthetic.
I do not think that taking vitamin E will prevent freckles. Not everyone gets freckles. You are usually genetically predisposed to get them if you do. Taking any vitamin will not change that. The best way to prevent freckles is probably to stay out of the sun and sun block. Taking vitamin E wouldn't hurt you but be careful. Vitamin E is a fat soluble and will accumulate to the body.
Hope this helps!

My intrigue concerning this subject comes from a post that biogardner posted last year which says that she placed vitamin e capsules topically on her freckles and they went away. Because vitamin e works against rancidity. I was just wondering how long it took for her to see results.

Thanks for your thorough response, Samantha.

I don't have any experience with using vitamin E on the skin, so I'm sorry I'm not able to give you advice or a time estimate on how fast it might work.

Have you tried contacting "biogardner" and asking her directly?
