Natural MedicineSedate the Triple Warmer Meridian
»
How often do you suggest doing the triple warmer movement for someone with a thyroid condition and weight gain?
»
That's a simple question that requires a complicated answer! The short version: There's no such thing as too much. Running the triple warmer meridian backward 3-4 times at once, at 5 or more moments during the day (I'll call this "5 times a day" from now on), would not be amiss. If you're working on weight gain related to thyroid, it's also helpful to massage the spleen points - either the ones under the breasts, or the end points of the spleen meridian - which are often sore. The long answer a.k.a. a few caveats: When the triple warmer is chronically over-energized, it has to do with (one or more of) fear, self-sabotage and survival issues on a deep emotional level. When there is a long-standing health challenge involved, such as thyroid (which has to do with voice and self-expression), this is even more the case. As a person works the triple warmer meridian consistently and begins to see results, they will also usually experience a "backlash" from the triple warmer meridian, which wants to maintain the status quo. A body that's used to being out of balance wants to stay that way - so it's a good idea to, first, work up gradually (start by doing it only 2 times a day, then 3 times the next day, then 4, then as often as you remember to do it) and secondly, to be prepared that you may experience some discouraging moments of self-sabotage, anger, or what feels like moving backwards as the triple warmer tries to "reset" itself to be overenergized again. Donna Eden ("Energy Medicine") has made some comments about this process. I hope you find that helpful.
