» orca007 - Looking for feedback from healers on Autism and Energy Medicine

I'm an energy medicine practitioner working with an 8yr old autistic girl. I'm looking for any feedback from from other healers who have worked with autisti kids. What has been helpful?

This child does not speak -- she makes sounds but no words yet. Eye contact is minimal. She isn't really hyper in an ADD sort of way, but she definitely is in her own world. She hears, but does not respond. Developmentally delayed, as well. Still in a diaper.

Sometimes she does go into a tantrum of self injury. She is very squirrelly and does not sit still for very long. So it is impossible to do any sort of meridian work. However, I was able to calm her down at the last session when she let me unwind her 2nd chakra. For about 120 seconds, that is. And then she jumped up again and ran around the room again...

Mom reports she is still doing a lot of self injury, and that is distressing.

This child feels the energy work, even though she does not seem to say anything. I am looking for other approaches to help this little girl. She is not verbal. Thanks.

Hi Orca,

Have you tried holding the "stress release" points on the front and back of her head (an exercise from Touch for Health, but that might have been discussed in Energy Medicine as well)?

Another thing that might work to calm her is gently holding her shoulders to sedate the triple warmer. Any result with that?

The challenge in working with autism is that they do tend to be in their "own worlds" and sometimes they have a good reason (or at least, a logical reason in their mind and in their own energy dynamics) to stay the way they are. It may take months to figure out what those reasons are - if you ever do - and ultimately, despite your best work, an autistic can decide to stay inside her head if that feels safe or right for her. And that's okay, too, even if it makes it harder for us to adapt to them.

All I can suggest is that you work through the Energy Medicine protocol with muscle testing, using a surrogate, and see where that leads you.

Best of luck!
