I can't speak with any certainty to the long-term effects of eating the powder, but I think you realize that you're better off without it.

I believe that you could get some help by speaking to a counselor or psychotherapist, particularly someone experienced in working with addictions. A good quality, natural-sourced, bioavailable iron supplement could help with your anemia, which might in turn relieve the draw of the baby powder (cravings often signal a nutritional need that is not being met).
