Happy November, NaNoWriMo!

Happy November!

As of yesterday morning at... oh, 12:01 a.m.... it's National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo).

I still intend to keep up with posting here, both articles and blogs, but if there is a brief lag at some point this month I hope you'll forgive me... I'm writing a novel (of sorts - see link above).

I find writing fiction, especially in large doses as I do during November's NaNoWriMo, absolutely therapeutic. It helps me to uncover the unconscious emotional processes I'm working through and find answers to things I'm questioning - especially when I don't realize which questions I'm asking and the characters manage to act in ways I could never have expected or planned.

I know it all comes from my brain, but some of each year's NaNovel seems to get written by parts of my mind I don't have conscious access to - and I enjoy that. It keeps the writing interesting.
