Feminine itching and irritation can be successfully treated with natural cures for candida fungus.

It is very important for all women to familiarize with yeast infection treatments. After all, nearly every woman will have a yeast infection at some point during her adult life. Symptoms include painful swelling, itching, burning, and irritation. Another yeast infection symptom is the frequent urge to urinate caused by a swollen urinary opening.

Although there are several medications that can relieve feminine itching and irritation, natural yeast infection treatments can work just as well. A yeast infection is caused by candida, which is a fungus that can be found in the genital area of most women. It is normal for a woman to have small levels of this fungus. If a woman's acidic level changes, this can cause the fungus to multiply, leading to a yeast infection.

Probiotics Supplements as Natural Yeast Infection Remedies

Several studies suggest that probiotics are effective natural yeast infection remedies. Probiotics are a type of bacteria that has positive effects on the human body. Probiotica are among the bacteria that are produced in the vagina. Research indicates that probiotics can stop yeast from growing. Probiotics supplements, or suppositories can prevent an infection.

The probiotic known as lactobacillus is the subject of numerous studies that suggest it works well as a yeast infection cure. It works by preventing candida from growing in the vagina. Researchers at the Lawson Research Institute in London studied the effects of lactobacillus on ten women with recurring yeast infections. They found that labcobacillus cured most of the women's infections within one week.

Boric Acid Suppositories

Boric acid suppositories can also be used as a yeast infection cure. Boric acid works as an antiseptic and it has anti-fungal properties. In fact, researchers say boric acid often works better than some anti-fungal medications. Some studies show that women can get rid of their symptoms within two weeks if, through the daily use of suppositories that have 600 milligrams of boric acid.

Researchers who conducted the Obstetrical & Gynecological Survey in May of 2003 recommend boric acid as a natural yeast infection cure. However, it's important to use boric acid as directed. Boric acid is a toxic substance and should not be taken orally. It is not safe to use it for extended periods of time and the correct dosage should always be used. Possible side effects from the suppositories include irritation and vaginal burning.

Natural yeast infection cures can be most effective when women take other preventative precautions. Yeast needs moisture in order to multiply. So take off bathing suits immediately after getting out of a pool. Don't wear pantyhose on a daily basis. After using the bathroom, wipe from front to back, to avoid spreading yeast to the vagina.
