Embarrassed by "cheesy" bad smelling feet? This problem isn't to do with poor hygiene, but about poor elimination of toxins. Learn how to remedy this problem.

Many people are embarrassed to take off their shoes in public – unless they are out of doors. This is often because they know that their feet smell very strongly and that soon everybody else will know too! The smell can be reminiscent of a ripe gorgonzola cheese. Sufferers are usually pleased to find out that there is a remedy for this problem.

Toxicity Causes Smelly Feet

People with smelly feet are usually very clean individuals who wash regularly. The smelly feet are symptomatic of a toxicity problem in the body. This often occurs as a result of poor elimination and can be aggravated by an unhealthy diet and lifestyle.

If the body cannot offload toxins in the normal way – i.e. via the liver, kidneys & urinary system – then it will offload any way that it can. The feet, being richly endowed with sweat glands, is an obvious route through which to do this.

What Causes Toxicity?

For many people it can be a combination of factors:

  • Poor diet – too high in saturated fats and stimulants (tea and coffee), too much alcohol, not enough fresh foods (e.g. salads, fruit & vegetables)
  • Poor Lifestyle – too much stress and lack of exercise and fresh air
  • Physical Problems – poor gut function can lead to “leaky gut syndrome” which causes toxicity from within. Often one symptom of this is dietary-related bloating of the belly accompanied by food intolerances, IBS, etc.
  • Poor Elimination – Sluggish bowel transit leading to constipation or mixed constipation and diarrhoea

Many of the physical problems are caused by yeast overgrowth in the gut. This comes about when the natural beneficial flora in the gut are damaged by chemicals in the water and food, medications and irritants like alcohol.

As the beneficial bacteria are eliminated, the yeasts take over and cause havoc inside.

How To Address the Problem

Eliminating the yeasts from the gut is essential. This can be done by taking probiotic (beneficial bacteria) capsules or tablets. Aloe Vera juice can be taken to speed up this process. However it is always advisable to see a professional and be guided through this process.

Consulting a Physician

If you haven’t consulted your physician yet, it is really important to do that in order to rule out any other medical conditions that may be causing your problems.

Naturopathic Healing

Rebalancing the body through probiotics, or herbal medicines is the province of the naturopathic healer. This includes such therapies as kinesiology which work to strengthen the body’s immune system in a natural way – i.e. not using drugs or chemicals. It is always best to be guided by such a professional as there is much they can do in healing the body.

Other Things To Do

  • Drink enough water
  • Cut down on greasy foods and junk foods
  • Cut down on alcohol and stimulants
  • Include a salad meal each day
  • Eat more fruit and vegetables
  • Take regular exercise
  • Ionic Foot Detox (e.g. Aqua Detox)

How Long Does it Take?

It can take two or three months in order to eliminate smelly feet. This is because it needs to work through the body, cleansing from within. Be patient and don’t give up too early.
