It isn't necessary to break the bank to pamper your skin at home. Follow these simple steps to enjoy a full spa treatment without paying the price.

You needn't spend a mint at the spa to pamper your skin at home. With the right combination of grocery store products and a little time for rest and relaxation, you can get a professional week long glow without stepping foot in a salon. In every high end spa you find cucumbers on ice and chilled fruit juice for sipping. Don't rob yourself of these simple pleasures. Make a shopping list, get the cucumber slices cooled and fill a pitcher with your favorite juices. Follow the rest of these guidelines and invest some time in treating yourself.

To begin your pampering session, boil some water and pour it into a large bowl. Place a towel over your head, creating a tent with the bowl enclosed with your exposed face. Let the steam saturate your skin and open your pours for proper cleansing. For an extra special treat add peppermint oil, or rose oil to the mixture and experience the relaxation of aromatherapy.

Treatments for Dry Skin

When choosing skin products for dry or injured skin avoid citrus ingredients. Anything with milk, honey or egg yolk will help with moisture.

Avocado is full of all kinds of great oils, perfect for dry skin. Puree an avocado in the blender and add a few tablespoons of yogurt. Apply liberally to your skin, avoiding the eyes. Prop your feet up and relax for fifteen to twenty minutes before rinsing with warm water and a soft cloth.

Aloe Vera isn't just sunburn treatment. It's one of the most hydrating plants on the planet. Rinse your face in warm water to open pores, and then pat dollops of aloe vera on your skin. Allow it to soak in for about twenty minutes before rinsing your face with cold water to close your pores. For an extra cooling sensation, turn on a fan and let the air blow over your skin while you're wearing the mask. This encourages total body relaxation. Even after the first application your skin should feel softer and more supple than it has in years!

Home Remedies for the Treatments of Acne

For break out prone skin there are plenty of over the counter remedies you can make at home. If you're lucky enough to live near salt water, swimming in the ocean can do amazing things for clearing up problem skin. If you're inland, mix a little sea salt and warm water and use a gentle cloth to massage the fluid into your skin. Rinse with cool water.

Baking soda and water mixed into a paste can dry up pimples. Apply to the skin, let sit for about fifteen minutes, and then rinse. Oatmeal can also be mixed with water to create an exfoliating gentle scrub handy for smoothing out problem areas.

Garlic is also very effective in removing acne. Garlic has natural cleansing and antibiotic properties. Mash raw garlic and apply sparingly to the face, be careful not to apply too liberally to avoid reddening of the skin. Let the mashed garlic stay on your skin ten to fifteen minutes, and then rinse with your usual facial cleanser.

Hope for Aging Skin Too

Bananas are some of the most nourishing fruits available because of their high vitamin content. Mash a small banana and mix it with two tablespoons of heavy cream, a tablespoon of honey and a tablespoon of oat flour. The consistency you're looking for is similar to that of yogurt. Smooth the concoction over your skin and let it sit for 30 minutes. Rinse your skin with cool water and pat dry.

For total rejuvenation, apply Kraft Miracle Whip Salad Dressing to your skin and let it sit for about ten minutes. Something about the vinegar in the dressing causes exfoliation and rejuvenation. After ten minutes, rinse with warm water. Dead skin cells should visibly slough off. After six weeks or so of daily use your skin will look refreshed, renewed and ten years younger.
